Program Day 1
You depart from Manaus early in the morning at 6:45 AM. By both the bus and boat you arrive to the jungle lodge in Rio Urubu. Arrival at the lodge around 11 AM. The bus has comfortable seats and airconditioning. The ride is a nice way of getting the first impression of the jungle before arrival. After installing yourself in your room at the lodge, you will enjoy your lunch prepared with local ingredients. After the lunch, we will go on a canoe trip. This is a lot of fun and one of the best ways to explore the amazon rainforest and river. Around 6 PM, dinner is served. When the sun has set we go alligator spotting. During the night their eyes reflect in the lights of your flashlight so, they are easier to spot. This night trip also gives you the opportunity to see the milky way in its full glory, as we are deep in the jungle with no city lights to block the view.
Program Day 2
In the morning, you have the options to either explore the Amazon by boat or to go piranha fishing. Our local jungle guide is there to explain you the animals and plants that you encounter and to answer any questions that you may have. If you decide to go piranha fishing, you will likely be surprised with how easy they are to catch with a little bit of chicken. This night, you have the option to camp in the middle of the jungle. In the afternoon, we go to the depths of the jungle. There we prepare our sleeping places and cook dinner on a campfire. Your bed in the jungle is a hammock at the camp. A mosquito net will protect you from the mosquitos. During the night, animals may visit the camp and give you the opportunity to see a few species you have never encountered before. You will also be surprised by the noises that the jungle animals produce.
Program Day 3
You start the day early in the morning to see the sunrise over the Amazon and go back to the jungle lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you go on a jungle trek for about 3 hours. Our jungle guide shows you the animals and explains the medical use of the plants that you encounter in the jungle. You have lunch back at the jungle lodge and travel back to Manaus by boat and bus around 2:00 PM. In Manaus, we bring you back to your hotel or to the airport if you will continue your journey elsewhere.
